Concert ticket prices have been climbing for many years, and that can easily become disconcerting to fans. Top-tier touring artists today will often charge a hundred dollars or more for even a relatively poor seat, and the prices for the best vantage points can climb a whole lot higher. That fact has left some music fans wondering if live performances have simply become out of reach. While focusing on smaller acts that are likely to charge less can help, there are other ways for fans to stretch their dollars farther. Last minute concert tickets, for example, can be quite a bit less expensive than those that are purchased earlier on, with truly impressive bargains being relatively common.
Event tickets that are not used by someone to actually attend a concert, of course, will be wasted. Given that refunds are typically only given when a concert is canceled for some reason, allowing a ticket to simply expire unused will never be a good option for its owner. While some ticket holders will sell their unwanted stubs early on and command high prices, others might have to wait quite a bit longer. Whether because the owner had a last-minute change of plans or for other reasons entirely, it will be quite common for offers to pop up not long before the date of a concert itself.
In some cases, prices might still remain high. For those artists who tour relatively rarely but remain extremely popular, even tickets that are offered right as the gates open might still be expensive. In many other cases, though, the prices that are asked will be lower than face value, making for great opportunities to save money for those who are so inclined.
Of course, it will always still help to be flexible. Accepting a seat that is not necessarily the best in a venue will generally be a productive way of cutting spending further. Likewise will being willing to split a party up, as the best ticket bargains often come in sets of one or two instead of larger collections. By being a little bit flexible and willing to wait until closer to the day of a concert, though, fans can quite often save themselves some money.
